I’ve had people tweet me and ask why they should outsource their social media to a Social Media Manager.

There are many benefits with outsourcing to someone who is experienced in social media to manage your social media marketing campaigns and even building your fan base. I have found that many small business owners are getting bogged down with all the social media sites, not really knowing which way to go or don’t have enough time to plug this critical technique into their marketing plan.

I have listed here and explained briefly the top 5 key benefits of outsourcing your social media management:

  1. Time Management: Many people who use social media correctly know that it can be very time consuming. By outsourcing your social media management to an SMMGR (Social Media Manager) you can literally free up many hours per day and week, which allows you time to focus on some other key areas in your marketing or business like – running your business not your social media.
  2. Reputation Management: It is very important to know what your reputation is and what is being said about you, your company or your brand. An SMMGR can monitor this for you, which in turn helps maintain a good reputation, not leaving disgruntled customers to complain and you can address needed issues. This alone can easily be a full time job, and is worth more money to your bottom line.
  3. Choosing the Right Social Networks to Utilize: There are thousands of networks and sites for social media and they keep popping up by the day. It can be very time consuming to keep up on what’s new, what’s right, and what’s not so right. Depending on your niche or business there can be several social sites that will apply and be more beneficial to you.
  4. Consistency: When taking advantage of social media and implementing it into your marketing strategies, the main thing to remember is to be very consistent and engage with your followers. No one likes to go to a site that hasn’t been kept up to date in a month. You don’t want to appear as a ghost town.
  5. Cost Effective: Time is money, if you are spending 3 hours a day trying to clean out all the junk mail and messages from your profiles then that is 3 hours you can’t really count as productive. I know I prefer to spend my time and effort on money making strategies. An SMMGR can be like a personal assistant that gets rid of all the nonsense and puts through the priority items.  The SMMGR can play a big role on your marketing team, by teaching you how to use these wonderful tools effectively which will cost you much less than useless “Yellow Page” ads, newspaper ads or radio advertising. Plus you will be reaching a more specific public as you really begin to build your list and you may find a wider public that aren’t necessarily local.

Some have said that the Social Media Manager can insulate you from your market. I believe that when it is applied as above this creates a better environment and you will see what you need to see but still be able to spend your time where it is most needed…

Running your business. But the important thing is what do you think? Leave a comment and let me know.
